Shunga was an art form that most Japanese woodblock artists produced and are now becoming rare and very collectable.

Good impression and colour. These wher framed and out of direct sunlight for over 20 years.
Offered below are Japanese & Chinese books and book Illustrations. All at least 100 years old.
These Chinese paintings are from a book illustrating the most beutiful and notable women from Chinese history.
15 x 20 cm o/a, book covers are of Hard wood, as they have not been in sunlight at all they are in wonderfull bright condition. Some notation in pencil re the woman on the reverse.
In book form £80, individually £10 each, plus postage of you choice.
These are just a sample of the 44 wonderfull illustrations contained in the book. They appear to be paintings and are of quite splendid quality, sadly the back cover and the 45 is missing and damaged.
Dates from around 1920, all text in English, printed in Japane. £40 plus P&P of your choice.
I should explain that as these were scanned on a flatbed scanner the have been slightly trimmed in that process, each print is 21 x 16cm all but one forming a dyptich. Printed on hand made paper the prints seem to illustrate village life pre meiji revolution. I would suggest that these are circa 1900 possibly earlier.
Framed these will make an interesting displayin any sword / oriental designed area.
Each dyptich £12 plus postage
I also have a small number of Japanese books with illustration{Monochrome} of architecture/Emblems and other, anyone interested in these may have them for the cost of postage only.
